Club history of Kolhapur Sunrise
A group of 16 enthusiastic members willing to work for Rotary to the best of their latent qualities and abilities came together and formed Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise on 11th June 1997. A new pin got marked on the map of the Rotary organisation which gave a hope of brighter days for the world. Strengthening day by day, the club got stronger with 121 strong pillars in the form of members that are focused on serving to change lives.
The club’s journey of 25 years has been a zealous one with several permanent projects along with newer ideas to make the world a better place to dwell. Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise has marked its existence in community service for Rotary through prominent projects. For example the Jotiba Medical Camp which has been conducted for 25 years which was a small need of hour when began.
In mere 11 years Sunrise paved its way of striving to attain one milestone after the other; after stepping on taller and taller stones of success it also created its one premise. Today, with the help of the Global Grant, Sunrise entered into its own property, Rotary Sunrise Vocational Training Centre.
Through all these years, Sunrise has been donating to TRF to the best of its capacity. As on date Sunrise has donated around &200000 to the TRF while pivoting on strong Rotary membership with an average age of 40 amongst members. The key of retention has mainly been the average age-group too.
Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise has flagged it’s sunshine through many projects such as a couple of Global Grants, Rainwater Harvesting projects, Sunrise VTC, Ophthalmic Van, Donation of Ventilators and many more. The list of community tasks performed by Sunrise has grown longer and longer with great commend.
Sunrise has now created its own distinct legacy of 25 years of Rotary Service. During this ongoing silver jubilee, Sunrise is all set to break all the records of its previous service works. Donations close to $300000, 4 Global Grants, 3 CSR projects, and various community projects will mark this year in the history of not only Sunrise but RID 3170.
We the Sunrisers seek blessings from the Rotary world for the coming journey of Sunrise. We assure to continue working to serve to change lives with the best of knowledge and capacity in coming years.
